View of Francesca Marti’s Dutch solo show in the monumental space at MPV Gallery, with Dreamer – Beta Orinois in red, Believers – Purple Energy and a Believers installation with a collection of dynamic figures made from mirror-polished aluminium.
Francesca Marti’ continued her long rapport with the Netherlands at her Believers solo exhibition at the MPV Gallery in s’Hertogenbosch in the Netherlands, which took place from Saturday, December 5, 2020 to Sunday, January 31, 2021. The exhibition presented a diverse series of large-scale works, including Marti’s kneeling, life-sized sculpture of Dreamer – Beta Orinois in red, her torn canvas Deep into the Blue from her famous Tears series, and her Believers video projection of a crowd of green figures wandering across the gallery walls. In the gallery spaces occupying the entire first floor of the MPV building, Marti’ exhibited several Cities in a Crooked Line (her colour-altered photographs of urban landscapes printed on crumpled metal sheeting), as well as two wall-mounted installations of groups of mirror-polished aluminium Believers.
